Ingredients
- 2 cups short grain Japanese rice, such as sushi rice
- 3 cups water
- 5 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sake of white wine
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp dashi or miso paste
- ———–stir————————
- 1 lb (0.45 kg) beef, thinly sliced (get butcher to slice like cold-cuts)
- 1 onion diced
- 2 stalks green onion chopped
- ———–cook————————
- Sriracha sauce
Method
- Add all ingredients to a rice maker, in the order shown, except the beef, onion, and green onions.
- Stir ingredients in the rice maker
- Layer on the beef, then onion, and then green onions
- Add additional water to cover, if required
- Cook in rice maker (approximately 20 minutes)
- Serve
- Garnish with Sriracha sauce to taste
